At this stage, there is no official word when the band will be getting back together as they are on an extended hiatus. They are taking a break from being the chili peppers for the moment to focus on other interests and family, but they have all been keeping themselves busy:
Here is a summary of what they guys have been up toHere are the most recent comments from the guys regarding the status of the bandGiven that John has just released another new solo album, Chad has 2 albums (with different bands) coming out in the next couple of months, and there is also Flea's first solo album on it's way, I think it's safe to say that they wont be releasing a new album within the year. But when you think about it, that's really not too much longer than the gap between previous albums, and after touring, they really haven't had a decent break between albums.
I can assure you tho, that as soon as there is any news, official or not, it will be posted
